November Students of the Month – Submitted by Math Department

Spencer LaVelle is the 9th & 10th Grade Math Student of the Month.  He is the son of Terri and Brad Peters and William LaVelle.  Spencer is a 9th grade student in Geometry.  He was nominated by his teacher Lynn Johnson because of his strong work ethic and his intuitive sense of Geometry.  While Spencer is usually a quiet-spoken student, he volunteers answers in class and willingly assists his peers.  He is not afraid to ask for help when he needs it and is a good role model for other students.  Spencer is also a member of the Math Team for the 3rd year in a row.  Keep up the good work Spencer.  You’re a joy to have in class.

8th grader Sara Yager, daughter of Tim and Jennifer Yager, has been named the 7-8 Math Student of the Month.  Sara has made constant progress through hard work in math this year.  Her positive attitude has made her an asset to the classroom.  It is with great pride that I can choose her as the 7-8 Math Student of the Month.

John Flanigan is the W-K High School Math Department 11th/12th Grade Student of the Month for November.  John is currently in the 12th grade and was chosen as the 11th/12th grade Student of the Month for his hard work and dedication to his academics.  Whenever I ask for help answering a question in class John will volunteer an answer.  When students are given time to work John doesn’t hesitate to help his fellow classmates.  Also when John encounters a problem he doesn’t get he will take the time to figure out how to get the correct answer.  When he is not busy with his academics he stays active playing both baseball and football.  John always has a smile on his face and is respectful of everyone around him.
