Welcome to English!

My name is Mrs. Purvis. I have been teaching at Wabasha-Kellogg High School since 2003, first as the K-12 librarian and then as the junior high English/Language Arts teacher. I gradually migrated into the 11th and 12th grade English elective area a few years ago while staying connected to the junior high level. I can't totally let go of those junior high kids - they're way too much fun to teach! However, I missed my former students so it is awesome having them again at the end of their high school journey. I love seeing the changes in them! I teach English 7, Communications, Composition, AP English, Literature Classics, and Mystery Literature. I am also co-adviser of the yearbook.

I believe Wabasha-Kellogg is a great area to raise kids and our school keeps getting better every year. My own children have learned from some great teachers and have been involved in multiple activities in both sports and fine arts, which are opportunities they may not have had at a larger school system. Now that my children are in high school, they also have many opportunities to earn college credit from the variety of College in the Schools classes and Advanced Placement classes offered at W-K. More opportunities are added each year for students.

I'm excited for another year of school, of seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.
