Hello and welcome to First Grade! My name is Jennifer Rother and I am very excited about the upcoming school year. We are going to have a lot of fun while learning all kinds of new things. I would like to take a minute and tell you a little about myself.

I was born in Hastings, Minnesota. I am part of a family of four. My mother is a retired first grade teacher of 36 years. My father is recently retired from our family owned butcher shop, Rother's Meats. I have one older sister that lives in Maple Grove, MN. She went to college at the University of Minnesota Duluth and she works at a bio-pharmaceutical company.

I graduated in May of 2004 from Winona State University, where I received my Bachelor's of Science in Education. I am licensed to teach K-6th grade. I also have a Master's degree from Graceland University in Quality Education. I believe that research and keeping up to date with education will help me to be an efficient teacher. I am always searching for new and better ways to teach my students. Although I live in Hastings, this is my eleventh year teaching at Wabasha-Kellogg Elementary. Previously, I worked at the Cochrane-Fountain City and St. Charles School Districts.

I enjoy spending time at our family's cabin in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. I also love to fish, spend time outdoors, and read. I am honored to work in the Wabasha community and very excited about teaching another year in First Grade!
